Wall of Jars
I'd like to introduce you to my "Wall of Jars." This right here is a vision that I have had swimming around in my head for years. And as I've nested into this studio space of mine, I've been fine-tuning my Wall of Jars.
Way back when this business was a baby and was just starting to develop, in my mind popped this Wall of Jars. Some of the jars were big, some were small, some had those lids that you had to finagle your way into. (Those jars I save for super special clays because the very act of opening them feels special.) And as that image in my mind gathered more details, I saw those jars fill with some sort of herb or plant or flower. And there were so many jars in this image in my mind, that they had to be sort of tiered and stacked to all fit. Some sitting higher up and sort of peeking out from behind the front row.
When I got the offer to choose my space at Mainframe Studios, I realized I was going to be able to bring this Wall of Jars to life! I started building it, jar by jar. And now that it's real, I realize it is more like a Wall of Inspiration. In the jar, it's just an ingredient - but once it's out of the jar; it becomes so much more.
As much joy as this Wall brings me, I get to watch others' face transform as they step back and take it in, wondering what all those things could possibly be used for? Just this last week, I had a visitor remark outloud to me that she needed a moment to take this all in; that it was so very aesthetically pleasing to look at. She then, got to hear the story of how this only lived in my head for years and now I get to have it in real life. ❤️
